Michael Peterson is a decorated soldier and a successful novelist and a murderer

Busy, busy as the Bokononists say. Michael Peterson, author of The Immortal Dragon, A Time of War, and A Bitter Peace was convicted on October 10, 2003 of murder. He's now serving life in prison.

Michael Peterson's M.O. (that's Modus Operandi to you Latin-phile Michael Petersons, Mode of Operations for you dropout Michael Petersons) was as follows:

1) Bludgeon the woman in the back of the head until unconscious;
2) Throw the body down a flight of stairs;
3) Blame the stairs.

So ended the life of Kathleen Peterson, December 9, 2001.

Michael Peterson probably would have gotten away with the murder of his wife if he hadn't used the same exact method to dispose of inconvenient girlfriend Elizabeth Ratliff sixteen years earlier.

According to the Canadian Broadcasting Company Michael Peterson:

...once told an interviewer that as a child he read Hemingway and fantasized about being a hard-drinking, hard-living writer one day.

Done and done.
